The Crab and Winkle Cycle Way is a 7.5 mile mainly traffic-free route between Canterbury and Whitstable. Alternatively, cycle down the shoreline towards Herne Bay and beyond to Reculver Castle.

Golf:
Whitstable & Seasalter Golf Club is a nine hole public course very close to the beach. Visitors are welcome. Call 01227 272 020 for green rates. An 18 hole course is also nearby in Chestfield.
If you are a watersports fan then you are spoilt for choice. Whitstable is the perfect location for learning to sail, kite, or windsurf and indeed most water sports. Gifted with a huge 5km bay that at low tide is shallow enough to stand up in to 500m out.

Whitstable Yacht Club is one of the oldest and largest sailing clubs in England. WYC offers sailing in sheltered waters at all times of the tide for catamarans, dinghies, and windsurfers, with yachts in nearby creeks that dry out. The sailing and windsurfing school runs three hour taster sessions to full training courses.

Established for many years, the trained instructors offer single day taster courses, three days and advanced courses. Transition Kiteboarding is the only BKSA / IKO school in Kent. the school has been established for many years and has a private teaching area in the bay sanctioned by the council and therefore safer for beginners.
